WINEMAKING COMMENTS
James Halliday loved the 2006 & 2008 and named them in his Top 100 NSW Wines. A typical savoury style Mudgee Shiraz, from well established, low yielding vines.
COLOUR
Deep Purple Red
AROMA
Lifted savoury aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice and spice.
FLAVOUR
Spicy, savoury red berry fruit flavours, with a softness on the finish resulting from the addition of a small portion of Viognier to the ferment. The palate finishes with firm tannin structure so typical of this variety from Mudgee.
CELLARING
Showing a bit of age, but still fresh, with another five years in bottle.
FOOD
A perfect accompaniment to roast duck and Asian greens.
