Pinot Gris

WINEMAKING COMMENTS

Pinot Gris originated in Burgundy. Optimiste Estate grown Pinot Gris grapes were selectively hand harvested in the cool mornings when fully ripe to ensure maximum flavour and mouthfeel. A portion was fermented in aged French oak to give the full, typical Gris style.

COLOUR

Pale Straw with a slight green hue.

AROMA

A perfumed wine with fresh cut apple and pear aromas, and a touch of honeysuckle.

FLAVOUR

A fresh and crisp Pinot Gris with the extension of the aromas of pear and apple with added spiciness. There is persistent length and depth of flavour with fleshy and generous mouthfeel.

FOOD

Drink now with fresh fruit, soft cheeses, crusty baguettes and a good prosciutto.
